PURPOSE:To obtain prepreg, onto which no foreign matter adheres and which has nice appearance, under the condition that energy is saved, by a method wherein the air used at a solvent volatilizing section is re-used as the air at a hardening section, which semi-hardens the prepreg, in a drying cylinder when the drying of the prepreg is intended. CONSTITUTION:Prepreg is obtained by impregnating board 1 in continuous form such as glass fabric or the like with thermosetting resin varnish by being passed through the varnish in an impregnating tank 2 and, after that, being passed through a volatilizing section A, a crown B and a setting section C in the order named. The air in the volatilizing section A is prepared by passing outside air through a filter 3 and a heat exchanger 4, heating it by a heater 6, introducing it from the lower lead-in port. After that, the air is discharged from an upper discharge port. In this case, numeral 5 represents a blower. Some part or the whole of the discharged air is introduced in the setting section C from the lower lead-in port of the setting section. A filter 3a is arranged between the discharge port of the volatilizing section and the lead-in port of the setting section. Since the temperature of the air in the volatilizing section is set comparatively low for the volatilization of resin, the volatilization and scattering of the resin are remarkably few and consequently the stains of the filter are few. Accordingly, the adhesion of the foreign matter or set resin to the prepreg can be restricted. |
