A profile control method for a welding line in weave welding, wherein a welding current and/or welding voltage in the neighbouring position of a weaving endpoint is determined as reference values. After measuring a welding current and/or welding voltage in the vicinity of the n-th (n >/= 2) weaving endpoint, the position of the (n+1)-th weaving endpoint is determined based on the difference between the observed values and the reference values. Further, welding from the n-th weaving endpoint to the (n+1)-th weaving endpoint is executed based on that data of position. As a result, a proper weaving weld can be performed.
