Portable cut-off tools used for slitting and cutting concrete building parts create a substantial dust hazard. To combat this invention the tool (3) is pushed along a guide rail (1) having a box section with side walls (5), an upper wall (8) with a narrow slot stopping just short of the rail ends, a lower wall (7) with a broad slot (9) stopping just short of the rail ends and bottom flanges (6) resting on the work. On the tool guard (17) are fore and aft pairs of rollers (18,19) which straddle the rail and guide the tool in a straight path while the blade (16) passes through the slots (9,11) into the cut (4). Dust is contained inside the rail and can be extracted by an exhaust system. A strip is unreeled behind the tool to cover the top slot. ADVANTAGE - Better working conditions.
