The packaging bags are made from a continuous strip of material (1) which is capable of being bonded by adhesive or of being heat sealed. The strip of material is folded along its longitudinal centre line to form a double thickness strip (7). This strip is then cut into lengths and sealed along two open edges to form the bags. An internal pocket is formed inside each bag by bonding rectangular panels (30) of the material to the strip before it is folded longitudinally. Each panel is bonded along three sides (31) to leave one side open for access.
