In an ice-cream machine of the kind, in which a mixing cone (21) may be moved upwards and downwards from a position, in which it cooperates with a mixing auger, the new feature is that the means for moving the mixing cone upwards and downwards consist of an electric motor (2) lifting and lowering the mixing cone by means of a chain (4), one end of which is secured high up in the machine framework, its other end being secured to the carriage (20) carrying the mixing cone (21) and extending about a sprocket on the moveable part of the linear motor and another sprocket in the machine framework. In another embodiment (not shown), the sliding carriage is moved up and down by means of a screw shaft, the upper end of which is driven by the electric motor through suitable gearing. With this arrangement it is possible to replace the previously used pneumatic cylinder by electrically driven means without safety risks, as the motor (2) is placed at a safe distance from the mixing cone (21) and high up in the machine framework. |
