The safety net, designed to stop rocks and boulders rolling down a steep slope, consists of a length of mesh (10) which is stretched out across the slope and held in place by supporting posts and guy lines. The mesh is of anti-submarine type, e.g. in the form of a series of interlinked rings (102 107), equipped with supporting cables (11) and covered with a layer of finer-mesh net (110) to stop smaller stones.
