PURPOSE:To readily uniform size of outside diameter of formed clad by alternately repeating a process attaching soot-like fine powder for forming clad around a core matrix by electrostatic coating and another process for dehydrating and sintering the fine power attached around the core matrix. CONSTITUTION:A process for attaching soot-like fine powder 5 consisting of silicon dioxide or silicon dioxide containing a material having low reflex index and capable of forming a clad around a core matrix 4 by electrostatic coating and another process for dehydrating and sintering the above-mentioned fine powder 5 attached around the core matrix 4 are alternately repeated to form the clad so as to have a prescribed size diameter on a core matrix. For example, electrostatic coating of the soot-like fine powder 5 is carried out in a soot attaching part 2 and dehydration and sintering are carried out in dehydrating and sintering part 3 (heater 6). |
