The shock-absorbing strut is for the suspension system of a vehicle. It consists of a helical pressure spring and a telescopic damper, with elements to attach the strut to the vehicle and to the wheel suspension. The spring plate (1) has on both sides one or more spring seats (2) with different diameters or gradations formed to give a positive engagement with the spring. USE/ADVANTAGE - Method of creating a spring plate for a strut which can be adapted to suit a variety of spring sizes.
