The correcting device permits correction of the aberrations caused by a spherical dome window (1) of an optronic system whose line of sight (LV) does not pass through the centre of symmetry (O) of the dome window. One illustrative embodiment comprises a piece of transparent material (20) comprising a spherical dioptre (18) centred on the centre of symmetry (O) of the dome window (1) and an aspherical dioptre (19) whose shape is calculated such that the optical path through the dome window (1) and the correcting device (18 to 20) is the same for all the light rays parallel to the line of sight (LV) of the optronic system.
