<p>PURPOSE: To enhance the slidability of a piston fitted in a cylinder so as to partition the cylinder into a pressure medium chamber and a gas chamber, and formed in its outer periphery with a collection chamber, by forming a variable volume hollow chamber in the piston and communicating the hollow chamber with the collection chamber. CONSTITUTION: In a reservoir tank for an automobile brake device, a partitioning piston 13 is slidably fitted in the cylinder 11 so as to define a gas chamber 14 and a pressure medium chamber 15 in the cylinder 11. Further, pressure medium is fed into and discharged from the pressure medium chamber 15 through a hole 16. Two seal rings 20, 21 are fitted on the piston 12, being axially spaced from each other, and a collection chamber 22 is defined between the seal rings 20, 21. In such a reservoir tank, an inner chamber 25 opened toward the gas chamber 14 is formed in the piston 13, and is fitted therein with a subpiston 26 so as to define a hollow chamber 32 which is then communicated with the collection chamber 22 through a hole 23.</p> |
