PURPOSE:To prevent accumulation of residual oil in a shock absorber mechanism in a device by which car height is lowered by means of pressure oil supply from a pump to a cylinder by arranging a narrow passage at a selector valve for communicating/shutting-off between upper and lower chambers in the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:In a shock absorber in which working fluid moves accompanying telescopic movement of a piston rod 5 between an upper chamber A and a lower chamber B in a cylinder 2, the working oil from a pump 12 driven by a motor 13 is supplied to a small hollow hole 17 of the piston rod 5 in lowering adjustment of the car height when a vehicle is stopped. And between both the chambers A and B are shut off by seating a valve head 19 of a switch valve at the tip end of the small hole 17 in a valve seat 20, and a passage constituted by a side hole 21 is formed between the small hole 7 and the upper chamber A so as to supply the working fluid to the upper chamber A. In this case, a clearance 30 is formed between the outer circumference of the valve head 19 of the switch valve and the inner circumferential surface of a sliding passage 4 so as to enable communication between both the chambers A and B in the restrained state even at the time of seating of the valve head 19 in the valve seat 20. |
