A juice extractor comprises a basic unit (10), including a stationary juice collecting bowl (20) and an axially displaceable driving shaft (29), extending through an opening (23) in the bottom of said bowl (20) and comprising an upper portion (29') for carrying a juice extraction means (42) and a lower portion (29'') for connection to an electric driving motor (22) through a friction coupling (32). The driving shaft (29) is spring-loaded towards an upper end position in which it is disconnected from said motor (22), but from which it may be resiliently depressed to a lower end position in which it is connected to said motor (22). In order to facilitate use of the extractor as a raw juice centrifuge, the extractor further comprises a depression means (61) which may be applied against the upper portion (29') of the driving shaft (29) to hold said shaft (29) permanently depressed in its lower end position. |
