PURPOSE:To stabilize the electrostatic charge quantity of a toner by adding a silane coupling agent to a reaction system. CONSTITUTION:The polymer particles obtd. by adding the silane coupling agent to the reaction system is subjected to a treatment for hydrophobic treatment. The surface of the polymer particles is subjected to the hydrophobic treatment by the silane coupling agent, by which the exertion of adverse influence on the electrostatic charge characteristics of the toner is obviated even if hardly water soluble inorg. fine powder used as a dispersion stabilizer remains on the surface of the monomer compsn. The dispersion stabilizer remaining on the toner surface is made hydrophobic in this way and the toner having the excellent electrostatic charge stability is obtd. in this way. |
