PURPOSE:To enable precise detection of a minute defect of a ball-shaped body by using a probe which has a curved surface of the same kind as that of specimen, wherein a flaw-detecting frequency f(MHz) and the radius of curvature r(mm) of the tip part thereof are set to have a specific relation and wherein the radius r(mm) and the diameter D(mm) of a vibrator are fixed. CONSTITUTION:In ultrasonic inspection of a ball, a probe which has a curved surface of the same kind as that of the specimen, wherein a flaw-detecting frequency f(MHz) thereof and the radius r(mm) of curvature of the tip part thereof have a relation expressed by the formula and wherein the radius r(mm) of curvature of the fore end part thereof and the diameter D(mm) of a vibrator are 0.35<= D/r<= 0.50, is employed. By conducting ultrasonic flaw-detecting inspection by employing this probe, a minute defect of the ball can be detected precisely. |
