<p>1,116,023. Control of several D.C. motors. CLARK EQUIPMENT CO. 30 Nov., 1966 [17 Dec., 1965], No. 53534/66. Heading H2J. [Also in Division G3] D.C. servomotors 10, 12 are adapted to be selectively and sequentially supplied from a single generator 15, contactors 22, 24 being interlocked to prevent simultaneous closure. The motors have fixed field excitation, the generator being driven at constant speed and having a separately-excited field winding 70 energized from amplifier 80 associated with separate control circuits 90, 100, which are alternately effective. The circuit 90 comprises velocity generator 108 and displacement signal generator 125 which are both coupled to the motor 12 and whose outputs are summed. The generator 125 provides a command signal, when displaced to either side of a null position, to control the direction and speed of motor 12, the velocity of operation being stabilized by generator 108. The circuit 90 also comprises a manual jog control network providing fixed signals of predetermined polarity to be summed with the output of generator 108. Selector contacts 122, 150, enable either the manual or automatic control signals to be connected to pre-amplifier 160. The control circuit 100 includes potentiometer 188 from which a " coarse " command signal is derived, a " fine " control signal being obtained from a parallel summing network having a displacement sensor 198 adapted to move the motor 10 to a null position. A second input branch circuit leading to pre-amplifier 230 provides manual jog control signals alternatively from fixed voltage sources 214, 216, of opposite polarity. The pre-amplifier 230 is stabilized by feedback resistor 235, and by tachometer generator 240 which is driven by motor 10.</p> |
