PURPOSE:To obtain excellent distance measurement characteristics for even a high- brightness subject by providing a by-pass means which supplies part or the whole of the current of a stationary light component to a ground side according to the output signal of a control means and setting a voltage corresponding to the current value of the stationary light component below a specific value. CONSTITUTION:When a light projecting means 23 projects light for distance measurement upon the subject, reflected light from the subject is converted by a photodetecting means 24 into a photocurrent, which is separated by a photocurrent separating means 25 into the current of the stationary light component and a light component for distance measurement; and only the current of the stationary light component is supplied to the ground side. Then an arithmetic means 26 operates the subject distance from the value of the light component for distance measurement and when the voltage corresponding to the current value of the stationary light component is larger than the specific value, a control means 27 outputs a signal before the light for distance measurement is projected to supply part or the whole of the current of the stationary light component to the ground side corresponding to the output signal, thereby setting the voltage corresponding to the current value of the stationary light component below the specific value by the by-pass means 28. |
