PURPOSE:To obtain a cellular synthetic leather excellent in moisture permeability and moisture absorbing and discharging properties by mixing animal fiber powder in a thermoplastic resin, forming the resultant mixture, bonding the formed resin film to a base fabric, dipping the fabric in an alkaline solution and eluting part of the animal fiber powder. CONSTITUTION:Powder of animal fiber (preferred example; wool) is mixed in a thermoplastic resin and the resultant mixture is formed to prepare a resin film, which is then bonded to a base fabric, such as nonwoven fabric. The obtained fabric is subsequently dipped in an alkaline aqueous solution in 5% concentration to elute the aforementioned animal fiber and form a fine cellular layer in the units of mu. Thereby, a synthetic leather, excellent in moisture permeability and moisture absorbing and discharging properties and having pliable touch is obtained at a low cost. |
