The supermarket trolley has a frame (2) which supports a basket (5). A rack (7) for carrying bottle crates is mounted below the basket and can be swung rearwards from its out-of-use position to its use position, and vice-versa. The rack is U-shaped, with a cross-bar (14) connecting the outer ends of the U shanks. The cross-bar forms a buffer when one trolley is pushed inside the frame of another trolley.
