Prodn. of homeopathic medicines - by dilution with ethanol and drying on sugar granules

Prodn. of homeopathic medicines effected by dissolving a C3 triturate of the active substance in dil. EtOH, dissolving one drop of the soln. in 2.5 ml of 86% EtOH, shaking the soln. 100 times, wetting a few grams of size-I sugar granules with the soln., and air drying the wetted granules in a closed vessel. Pref. 60 mg. of the C3 triturate is dissolved in 20 ml of 15% EtOH, and 2 g of the sugar granules are used, giving a MI potency. A higher potency (MII) may be obtained by dissolving 1 or 2 of the granules in one drop of water, adding 2.5 ml of 86% EtOH, shaking 100 times, and mixing 0.1 g of the soln. with 25 g of 48% EtOH. ADVANTAGE - Homeopathic medicines are produced in high potencies.
