Two-fibre reinforced plastics tubes (2, 6) with round or elliptical cross-sections are joined at adjacent ends to form a triangular frame section. A recess (20) at one tube end provides the location for the rounded end (8) on the second tube (6). A flat, triangular plastics sleeve (10), which is also fibre reinforced, encloses the tube joint. A tubular strut (18) which is bonded to the inside of the sleeve base (16) has its ends located in additional tube recesses (20). The sleeve (10) is bonded to the two tubes in order to secure the assembly. USE/ADVANTAGE - Improved joint between angled, fibre reinforced tube ends provides increased frame rigidity.
