Use of hydroxyurea or 1-ethyl-hydroxyurea for the suppression of bone marrow cells before transplantation.

A novel method for the suppression of bone marrow cells, particularly suitable for the substantial suppression of bone marrow cells preparatory to bone marrow transplantation in leukemia patients, is disclosed. This method entails the administration of hydroxyurea of 1-ethyl-1-hydroxyurea sufficient to provide the desired level of cell suppression.
