PURPOSE:To form a membrane by coating or vapor deposition by containing a specific azlene compound in a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:An azlene compound represented by formula I(wherein R<1> - R<3> are a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group or a lower alkoxycarbonyl group, X<1> - X<3> are a lower alkyl group or a halogen atom, l - n are an integer of 0 - 5, ZP<-> is an anion and p is 1 or 2) is contained in a recording layer. The recording layer can be formed by coating or vapor deposition and a bit having an extremely clear contour is formed by irradiating the recording layer with laser beam and an optical recording medium useful industrially is obtained. |
