The cutting tool is applied for the machining of grooves with unspecified shapes and cross sections in the processing of inner rotational surfaces. It has improved radial rigidness ensuring increased precision of the processed groove. It consists of a cutting part (9) and a body (8), whose cross section is shaped by an arc (1) with a radius equal to the half diameter of the circumference (2) of the orifice. In addition, the centre (3) coincides with the orifice centre, as well as forming another arc (4) of its adjacent chords (6, 7). The second arc (4) has a radius equal to the half diameter of circumference (2) of the orifice and a centre (5) lying on the horizontal plane, which shifts radially in the direction opposite to the cutting part (9) of the tool, at a distance equal to the depth of the groove cut.
