[Also in Division B1] A generator for high expansion fire-fighting foam (i.e. with an air/liquid ratio of 50 to 1, 500) comprises a wind tunnel 12 having a pleated screen 17 upon which foamable liquid is deposited by rotating nozzles 20 mounted on the hub 25 of an axial-flow fan 15 and driving it by jet reaction. There may also be non-rotatable nozzles 40 directed towards the centre of the screen. In a modification (see Figs. 6-8, not shown) the rotating nozzles (20<SP>1</SP>) may be inclined forwardly and downwardly, obviating the need for the group of non-rotatable nozzles; but there may be a single axial nozzle (50).
