(1) Unsaturated polyester resins, characterized in that they contain in their macromolecule: (a) from 1 to 15% by weight of monomeric units of formula: <CHEM> wherein X = Na, Li; (b) from 0 to 20% by weight of monomeric units derived from dimethylolpropionic acid and having formula: <CHEM> wherein R = H or mono-, di- or tri-alkylammonium group; (c) from 99 to 65% by weight of monomeric units deriving from ethylene-glycol and diethylene-glycol, or fumaric and/or itaconic and/or maleic acid, etc..
