The device comprises an arrangement, allocated to each channel and attached to a basic carrier (30), consisting of a DC SQUID (6, 27), of a gradiometer coil (8, 12, 15, 16, 37), of an input coupling coil (9, 19, 38), of superconductive connecting lines (10, 17, 18, 41) and of a modulation coil (7, 26). The gradiometer coil, the input coupling coil and the SQUID are formed from thin film structures. An evaluating device (11) is used for evaluating the signals generated in each channel by the SQUIDs. For each channel, a separate plate (29) is provided on which the SQUID and the modulation coil are attached. The arrangement of gradiometer coil, connecting lines and input coupling coil provided for each channel is attached on a separate gradiometer carrier (12, 32).
