An amplifier for separate A.C. and D.C. signals comprises two complementary transistors in cascade, the first having the two signals applied to its base, its emitter connected through an impedance to the collector of the second and its collector connected for D.C. to the base of the second, the D.C. and A.C. output signals being selected from the collector and emitter respectively of the second. The D.C. and A.C. input circuits 1 and 3 are isolated by the network C4, C5 and R6 and the output capacitors C6 and C7 separate the output signals. The circuit is for use in a pulse regenerator (Fig. 1, not shown) of the type in which the input pulses are fed to a threshold gate (4) controlled by timing and threshold signals extracted from the input signal by circuits (2 and 3). The amplifier described above is used to amplify the threshold signal and also an A.C. signal which is fed to a tuned circuit, an amplitude limiter and a differentiating circuit to provide the timing signal. |
