<p>PURPOSE:To promote decomposition of particulate and suppress production of sulphate by bearing the oxidation catalyzer at the facial layer of drafty base material admitting passage of the exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:Oxidation catalyzer is borne by the facial layer of drafty base material which constitutes the bulkhead 2 of a honeycomb structure 1. Because the decomposing speed of particulate is high, oxidative decomposition is made quickly with the oxidation catalyzer at the facial layer, that will never be associated with oxidation up to the sulphate because of low oxidating speed of sulphur dioxide. Thereby decomposition of the sulphur dioxide contained in gaseous constituent into sulphate is suppressed, and also oxidative decomposition of the particulate in the exhaust gas can be made effectively.</p> |
