Multi-pin component removal from socket - using tool with gripping elements moved against body when spindle is turned

The manually operated tool is used to pull electronic components (4) from their mounting sockets (3). The gripping mechanism is in the form of a plate (8) that is U shaped with a pair of arms that have projections (13) at the tips. The gripping plate locates on a main block (19) within a box shaped housing (18). Located on the underside of the block is a distance element that locates against the top surface of the component. A threaded spindle (23) is rotated in a bush to move the block axially against a spring (32). The gripping plates are forced inwards by contact with the inner profile of the housing (36) and the ocmponent is pulled clear. USE/ADVANTAGE - Can be used when access space is limited.
