PURPOSE:To inform a pager caller of the absence on receiving a pager call by additionally providing a paging system with a storage device where the absence report is stored and an announcement device to inform of the absence report. CONSTITUTION:When a pager subscriber does not want to receive the call from unspecified subscribers in a certain time zone or goes out of the radio wave coverage area, he registers his absence in a storage device 6 through a telephone exchange network 3, a paging system 4, and a central controller 5 of the paging system 4 by a general telephone 1 or a public telephone 2. When the pager caller dials the number assigned to a pager subscriber terminal 11 by the general telephone 1 or the public telephone 2 for the purpose of calling the pager subscriber terminal 11, it is discriminated by the storage device 6 whether the dial number of the pager subscriber terminal 11 corresponds to the absence report register subscriber or not; and if it corresponds to the absence report register subscriber, an announcement device 7 is started to inform the pager caller of the absence. |
