The method is for recording the front and back face of the tape with an audio head having a pair of tracks in the automatic reverse double deck cassette player. The circuit comprises a first controller (1), a second controller (2), and a driver (3). The controllers are controlled by reproduction (PB) and record (REC) control signals of a microprocessor (MC) and outputs of a pair of tape end sensors (S1-2). The rotation direction of a pair of deck motor drivers (DM1-2) and the track selection of a pair of head selection circuits (HS1-2) are controlled by the output of the controllers.
