<p>PURPOSE:To take up a magnetic tape at a speed of a certain degree even when the tape of a heavy load is mounted by shifting a mechanical mode from an FF/REW mode to a CUE/REW mode when an increase of the load of the tape beyond a certain value is detected by a tape load monitoring means. CONSTITUTION:The tape load monitoring means 4 is provided for monitoring an increase of the load, and when it is detected under the mechanical mode of the FF(fast forward)/REW(rewind) mode by the tape load monitoring means 4 that the load of the magnetic tape is increased more than a certain value, the mechanical mode is shifted from the FF/REW mode to the CUE(rapid traverse reproducing)/REW mode by a microcomputer 1. Now, an increase of the tape load can be known by observing a current value of a reel motor 8 because this current is increased whenever the tape load is increased or by acquiring a number of reel pulses at the time of standard tape take-up because the number of reel pulses is decreased whenever the tape load is increased. By this method, even when a tape having a heavy tape load is mounted, the take-up is performed at a speed of a certain degree, and miniaturization and power saving are contrived.</p> |
