PURPOSE:To simply produce a high purity superconductor in a shot time by melting starting materials in a short time, evaporating them in a melting chamber, recovering and sintering the resulting deposit. CONSTITUTION:Compds. of the constituent elements of a superconductor are put in a crucible 2 in a melting chamber 1 in a prescribed blending ratio. The chamber 1 is evacuatrd and filled with an inert gas. Arc 8 is generated between an electrode 7 and the crucible 2 and a melt 9 is formed in the crucible 2. The components of the melt 9 are successively evaporated and a deposit 18 is formed on the water-cooled inner wall 17 of the chamber 1. This deposit is recovered, press-molded, dried and heat-treated to obtain a superconductor. |
