A method for producing an electric line is specified, having an envelope of an insulating material which can be cross-linked. In order to increase the capacity of the production plant, at least two lines are intially continuously connected to one another, in an easily detachable manner, while fitting the envelopes along a generatrix. The lines are then drawn through a CV plant together, in order to cross-link the insulating material of the envelopes, and are separated from one another before they are processed further.
