<p>A unitised seal assembly for use in an automobile hub assembly in conjunction with a rotatable shaft which enables relief of a pressure build-up on one side of the seal assembly whilst maintaining a sealing contact. The sealing assembly includes: a sealing member (1), having two flexible arm members (3) (4) which provide two independent sealing contact areas (5) (6) with a unitising member (7); and a unitising member (7). The sealing member (1) and the unitising member (7) cooperate with one another during operation of the assembly so that at least one of the sealing contact areas (5) (6) is in sealing contact with the unitising member (7), and the sealing contact (5) (6) of the respective arm members (3) (4) with the unitising member (7) are on opposing faces.</p> |
