The present invention relates to handles for closing and opening doors, comprising an assembly consisting of a door knob 3 mounted in conjunction with a fastening plate 4. The door knob according to the invention is essentially characterised in that it includes an orifice 5 made in the plate, a sleeve 6 located in the orifice and comprising means 7, 8 for resting against the two faces 9, 10 of the plate, a hole 12 passing through the sleeve, and of axisymmetric cylindrical shape, the door knob including an end fitting 13 having a section complementary to that of the hole so that it can pivot therein in terms of rotation, the wall 14 of the hole and that 15 of the end fitting including two corresponding grooves 16, 17 and a spring 18 made from an elastic material, the spring being mounted in the two grooves so that it can be positioned at least partially therein when the end fitting is fitted into the hole. <IMAGE>
