<p>The invention provides the use of a compound for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of ocular hypertension which compound has the general formula (1): <CHEM> wherein the dashed bond represents a single bond, or a double bond which can be in the cis or trans configuration; A is -OH, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof or -OR1 where R1 is C1-6 alkyl; the two R groups are independently an acyclic hydrocarbon, saturated or unsaturated, having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, or R is -(CH2)nR2 where n is 0-10 and R2 is an aliphatic hydrocarbon ring, an aromatic or a heteroaromatic ring. Also provided are ophthalmic compositions containing compounds of the formula (1).</p> |
