PURPOSE:To obtain the charge image recording medium which can store charge images over a long period of time by providing a thin film of fatty acid on an insulating high-polymer film. CONSTITUTION:The thin film CL of the fatty acid or the thin film CL of the metal salt of the fatty acid is provided on the insulating high-polymer film IL of the charge image recording medium RM formed by laminating an electrode E and the insulating high-polymer film IL. The thin film CL of the fatty acid or the thin film CL of the metal salt of the fatty acid provided on the insulating high-polymer film IL acts to provide a good water repelling effect and maintains the charge image on the thin film CL of the fatty acid or the thin film CL of the metal salt of the fatty acid over a long period of time. The problem that the charge quantity of the charge image recorded on the charge image recording medium RM decreases gradually upon lapse of time and that the charge image can be maintained just for, for example, several hours or about several days is eliminated in this way.
