PURPOSE:To perform high performance reception with good frequency characteristics by sampling and holding respective receive signals at the time when in- phase surfaces diffused from a virtual point in a visual field reach respective oscillator elements, and adding the resulting signals and generating a receive beam. CONSTITUTION:(m) sets of means PK of sampling (n+1) input signals at independent time according to pulses of sampling pulse generating means G are used in combination. When E0, E1...En...EN are taken (N=mn) successively from the focus of the receive beam, the P1 samples receive signals from the E0...En at mutually independent time and holds their sum value, the P2 samples receive signals from the En+1...E2n at mutually independent time and holds their sum value, and so on the PK performs sample holding operation to obtain an output signal as the receive beam. Thus, the simple circuit constitution allows dynamic focus reception with good frequency characteristics. |
