<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a medium of high output and low noise by forming a basecoat film comprising an org. conducting polymer compd. between a nonmagnetic supporting body and a magnetic coating film. CONSTITUTION:An org. conducting polymer compd. which exhibits electric conductivity when a formed as a transparent film on a supporting body without dispersing solid particles is used as the basecoat film for the magnetic recording medium. By simply dissolving this org. conducting polymer compd. in a solvent, it can be applied on the substrate which results in a transparent conducting coating film. Even when this basecoat film is made thin, surface electric resistance of the magnetic recording medium can be decreased while surface smoothness of the substrate can be maintained. Namely, by using a nonmagnetic supporting body having good surface smoothness, this smoothness can be maintained even after forming the basecoat film. Thus, such a medium required for high-density recording, and particularly, such a medium having a magnetic recording layer of <=0.5mum thickness which is required for producing a thin medium, can be obtained with satisfying the requirements of high output and low noise.</p> |
