The receiver has several image sensors, operated in a time-parallel. Each image sensor has an associated liq. crystal component. At a given time point and for a preset time period, the componenet is rendered photoconductive. The time point and period for the light from the scene impinging on CCDs is pref. controlled by the liq. crystal components, as a shutter. The liq. crystal components are rendered photoconductive sequentially, one after the other, for the same time period during which the scene is taken in the dark phase of the optical transmitter.
