The measurement device of the invention comprises two identical fixed coils 3, 5 mounted one after the other on one and the same central axis, a moving core 7 made of a conducting material, which can move longitudinally in the said coils 3, 5 and an unstable multivibrator including the said coils 3, 5 in a branch 9 joining together the collectors of the two transistors 13, 15 of the said unstable multivibrator. The measurement device, in combination with a mechanical deformation element, can be used as a sensor. <IMAGE>
