PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-protecting film that exhibits good adhesion between layers thereof, namely, a substrate layer, an intermediate layer and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, and has a small peeling resistance (adhesion) between surface-protective films (between the substrate layer and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer) in spite of a large content of a 4-methylpentene-1 polymer in a resin composition forming the substrate layer. SOLUTION: The surface-protecting film comprises a substrate layer, an intermediate layer and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, where the substrate layer is formed of a polymer composition containing 60-90 wt.% of a 4-methylpentene-1 polymer and 10-40 wt.% of a polypropylene resin or an amorphous olefin; the intermediate layer is formed of a polymer composition comprising a 4-methylpentene-1 polymer; and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is formed of a polymer composition containing 20-90 wt.% of an olefin elastomer and 10-80 wt.% of a styrene elastomer.
