METHOD FOR CHEMICAL PRECIPITATION OF FIVE- VALENT ARSENIC WASTE WATER SOLUTION

The method finds application in the treatment of waste water solutions from the production of sulphuric acid and in the copper-producing industry. It achieves residual arsenic levels in the resulting waste water within the maximum allowable limits. The method involves carrying out a precipitation with ferric sulphate while maintaining a stoichiometric excess of ferric ions at a Fe<3+>/As<5+> ratio 5 - 9 and pH 5-7.
