The probe consists of a metallic cathode and a metallic anode immersed in an oxygen contg. soln.. Voltage applied to the electrodes causes oxygen diffusion. At least one electrode has a coating to prevent contact with the soln.. The coating is achieved through partial immersion of the electrodes in a dissolved polymer soln., after which the polymer is dried on the outer surface of the electrode. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used in polargraphic gas determn. The application of the coating is easy to achieve and good adhesion to the metal is attained. High signed strengths are possible and the probe is cheap.
