The invention relates to a method of displaying and indicating information, to a public transport vehicle timetable management system, as well as to an indicator panel and a transmitter which can be installed on vehicles designed for the said system. By the management system and method of the present invention, information relating to a given vehicle 4 is displayed on at least one indicator panel 5 by the following steps - a grid is drawn up showing the theoretical times when the vehicle is passing the point where the indicator panel is situated; - for a given vehicle and for a given location point, the theoretical time and the actual time of passing by the said vehicle are compared periodically; - the proximity of the said given vehicle with respect to the said given location point is monitored and detected; - at the said location point, a message is displayed relating to the given vehicle, concerning at least the frequency of service of the location point and/or the imminence of arrival at said location point and/or the probability of delay.
