摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To efficiently and quickly control a phase shifter related to an antenna array element by making a control system include plural sub-array phase shift instruction calculation units (PIE) related to corresponding sub-arrays of an overall plane RF array. CONSTITUTION: Each PIE 30 receives only a parameter independent of the position in the array from a beam operation computer 32. Thereafter, each PIE 30 executes calculation required for a phase shift instruction peculiar to each RF block 14 in an assigned sub-array 34 and controls the RF blocks 14 in accordance with these calculated phase shift instructions. Further, PIEs 30 perform these calculations to respective sub-arrays 34 in parallel to distribute the load on calculation over a system 10 and avoids a request to calculation hardware in an individual RF block 14. Thus, phase shifters related to array antenna elements are efficiently and quickly controlled.</p>
