PURPOSE:To obtain a polymerized toner ensuring high image density and not causing fogging by melting and kneading carbon black and a polymer and dissolving or dispersing the resulting polymer contg. finely dispersed carbon black of <=0.2mum number average particle size in a polymerizable monomer. CONSTITUTION:When a polymerized toner is produced by suspension- polymerizing a polymerizable monomer compsn. contg. a polymerizable monomer A, carbon black B and a polymer C, the carbon black B and the polymer C are melted and kneaded to obtain a polymer contg. finely dispersed carbon black of <=0.2mum number average particle size. This polymer is dissolved or dispersed in the polymerizable monomer and the resulting polymerizable monomer compsn. is suspension-polymerized to obtain a toner not lowering image density, having a sharp electric charge distribution and not causing fogging at the time of using as a toner. Since the dispersibility of the carbon black is improved, satisfactorily high image density is obtd. |
