<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a high-duty, high-contrast liquid crystal display device with a large numerical aperture by using transparent common electrode wiring and further providing an active element and a picture element electrode separately by using an inter-layer insulating film. CONSTITUTION:Transparent common electrodes 2 and 3 are used and a driving element 5 is arranged thereupon; and the inter-layer insulating film 4 is provided and transparent picture element electrodes 6, 6' and 6'' are provided not overlap ping with the transparent common electrodes 2 and 3. Parasitic capacity is formed between the transparent common electrode 2 and transparent picture element electrode 6' (similarly between the transparent common electrode 3 and transparent picture element electrode 6''), but a signal applied to the trans parent picture element electrode 6' is applied through the transparent common electrode 2, so this parasitic capacity exerts any influence upon driving eventu ally, thereby causing neither a decrease in display ability nor deterioration in picture quality due to the rounding of the signal.</p> |
