The power sensor consists of an edge-clamped, flexible ceramic carrier plate (1) with a strain gauge (2) in the form of a metal film resistance on one side covered by a ceramic insulation layer (4). The insulation layer is a thick ceramic plate with the same geometric dimensions as the carrier plate to which it is rigidly attached. The insulation plate is at least 60 micrometres thick and not greater than 0.8 times as thick as the carrier plate. ADVANTAGE - Has insulation layer which is very resistant to corrosive and abrasivee measurement media.
